Back the Bid
The England 2018 World Cup Bid was the high profile marketing campaign by the Football Association with the objective of bringing the 2018 World Cup to the UK.
Client Objective:
We were tasked with creating the Official England 2018 World Cup Bid iPhone application which would keep England football fans up to date on how the Bid was progressing.
Agency Activity:
We created an interactive iPhone app full of features for the avid England fan. Photos, video content, latest news as well as a countdown to the decision on the Bid were all included. As well as being a popular pick on the iTunes store, the app was promoted at England football matches on the perimeter boards.
Results:
Ultimately the app was more successful than the Bid with England unfortunately losing out to Russia. The app received tens of thousands of downloads and led to us being awarded Official Supplier status to the England 2018 World Cup Bid.
