THERE'S TROUBLE IN TOYLAND - CAN YOU HELP? | 18/06/2009
TAMBA are pleased to announce the launch of a second viral game for childrens' gift brand Wicked Uncle. Following on from 2008's critically-acclaimed shoot 'em up Teddy Bears' Picnic, our new viral campaign switches to the platform genre for a playful romp through Toyland. Named Trouble in Toyland, the game challenges the player to liberate the inhabitants of Toyland from the unwanted infestations of Beastly Balloons and Bully Bombs. In each of the three colourful levels, the player must race against the clock to collect as many toys as possible, whilst also avoiding the movements of Toyland's more petulant playthings. As the time limit is strict, strategy comes into play quite often; players must deduce the optimal route around each level in order to collect the maximum amount of toy icons. The game is aimed at an adult audience of giftbuyers, yet, to add a touch of whimsy, the visuals for the game were designed to be bright and fanciful; evocative of the typical memories of childhood toys. The background imagery is adorned with elements from childhood play; shooting stars, building blocks and model constructions kits amongst them. The foreground platforms upon with the player traverses are made up of dice, candy blocks and toy boxes. Altogether a buoyant, convivial ambience is created that appeals well to the identified audience. As with all viral campaigns we do, Trouble in Toyland features prominent marketing messages from the client. The Wicked Uncle logo is displayed throughout the game and, when clicked, serves as a link to the client's website. Furthermore, every player who submits a score to the leaderboard receives a personalised email from Wicked Uncle with a discount code, redeemable against their first order.
