Objective:

Trinity Mirror are owners of publications such as the Daily and Sunday Mirror and over 50 online job search portals. Their online job boards are among some of the most successful in the UK. Trinity Mirror Digital Recruitment came to us with the proposition of giving people access to the job boards on mobile devices through an iPhone application.

Activity:

We wanted to create the most functional job search application on the market for mobile devices. From our research into the market, we could see that those people looking for a new role need more than a simple search function. So we produced an application that could filter tens of thousands of jobs, set up email alerts and accept applications. We also devised additional features to ensure that the application would be head and shoulders above its competitors including job aggregation from over 40 of the leading job boards and a salary comparison function which allows the user to compare their current remuneration with the regional and national averages within their sector and role.

Results:

Due to its impressive functionality, the UK Job Search application has been a huge success. It was downloaded over 25,000 times within 3 months of launch and achieved the No.1 spot for free download in the Business category on the app store.

“The team at TAMBA have delivered a first class app for us,” said David Thomson, Product Manager at Trinity Mirror, “From day one they added value to the brief and are already working hard on ideas for a second version. Our aim from day one was to deliver a comprehensive job search and salary comparison app to our candidates and with the help of TAMBA we’ve achieved that. It was great fun working with Kay and the team and I hope to do so again soon.”
