Objectives

  • To create a CD-ROM for commercial sale providing generalised decorating advice whilst promoting Harris as a premier decorating products brand. 
  • To position the CD as an innovative new business generator encouraging viewers to buy Harris products as well as generating high unit sales
  • To demonstrate Harris' forward thinking business philosophy via this new marketing medium
  • To deliver guidance and education to the consumer audience on interior design and decorating tasks.
  • To encourage visitors to view the Harris website (a project also undertaken by TAMBA)

Solutions

  • The CD-ROM was produced entirely in Macromedia Flash. We included animation, audio and interactivity throughout to deliver a multisensory user experience.
  • Case Studies were presented on the CD with interactive features encouraging the user to participate and involve themselves by clicking on room features to gain insight as to how and why the room was designed as such.
  • A Kidszone section was included with a selection of downloads including colouring-in and word searches for children to use whilst their parents are decorating, making the CD-ROM family friendly.
  • The visuals included a considerable number of lifestyle photography shots which we also utilised in the website to keep the brand congruent throughout.

Results

  • The CD-ROM was launched on budget and on time, fully satisfying the client requirements and objectives
  • The CD-ROM is now available to buy in Homebase, B&Q and Focus Do It All stores throughout the country in both a retail pack and as part of a decorating starter kit.
